I document weddings by blending an editorial approach with candid documentary. I’m very attentive to light, atmosphere and the subtleties of human connection. The result is a body of work that feels like art; but authentic-to-you art. The photographs honour the elegance of the event while remaining true to the people who gave it life.
On being photographedVery few people spend their lives practising how to be photographed, which is why the experience should never feel like a performance. For much of the active day my camera won’t be in your way; I’ll be on the sidelines while treasured conversations unfold and the small social rituals take place.
But at certain moments, some direction will be helpful. When we step away briefly for portraits, or when your bridesmaids gather around you, I tend to take a more active role: I will control the light, adjust some details, suggest movement or posture, so the photographs feel considered rather than accidental.
The balance between those two approaches matters. I’m not there to choreograph the entire day, but I’m also not standing back and hoping for the best. Either way, you’re in good hands.
